Year 2
Welcome to Year 2
We have 30 fantastic children in year 2, our teacher is Mrs Carlin and our teaching assistant is Mrs Iles. We are also very lucky to learn with Mrs Ashley and Mrs Tatton.
Our PE days are Wednesdays and Thursdays and we will mostly be outside for these lessons so remember to wear the correct PE kit!
In year 2, we do English, Maths, Guided Reading, Handwriting and Spelling daily to help us learn our key skills. During the week, we also do lots of really exciting lessons such as Science, RE, PE, History, Geography, Music, Computing, PSHE, Art and DT.
We change our reading books once we have read them three times at home. We use the Accelerated Reading scheme where we will be quizzed on the books we have read. An adult should sign the reading record each time an activity is completed. Reading records and books should come to school every day in case an adult wants to read with us.
We receive spellings on a Friday based on our spelling sessions and these are tested on the following Friday. We also have a weekly Numbots and Times Tables Rock Stars session in school, and should try and work on this at home regularly.
